Amsterdam is famous its numerous attractions that attract all types of travelers. So in the city there are museums of world art known to the general public: the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Hermitage

Now this list will be replenished with the City Museum, which opened this Sunday after reconstruction, as a result of which the gallery space for the first time allowed to expose all the world-famous collection of the Museum of Modern Art. The opening ceremony was conducted by Queen Beatrix herself.

The museum contains works by artists who belong to such art movements of the early 20th century as expressionism, bauhaus and suprematism. One of the most important works of the museum is the painting "The Woodcutter" by Kazimir Malevich. In honor of the opening, the building will host a temporary exhibition "Beyond imagination", which will last until November 11. This exhibition unites 20 international artists who represent their vision of the boundary between reality and imagination.
