Opposite the San Carlo theater is the Gallery of Umberto I. This passage, executed in the late 19th century in the style of neoclassicism, pursued social goals in addition to trade goals: on the site of the Gallery there used to be a network of deaf lanes between the theater and Toledo Street, which were notorious.
In a circular hall in the center of the passage, the floor is lined with a pattern depicting the signs of the Zodiac. Many tourists are eager to stand up, or even sit or lie on their sign - it is believed that this brings success in matters.
