The Catholic Basilica of Superga is located in Turin on top of the hill of the same name, with a stunning view of the city, and is one of the main symbols of Turin.
The Basilica of Superga was born thanks to the oath that King Victor brought Amadeus II. In 1706, he and Eugene of Savoy were on a hill and watched anxiously as Turin besieged the French and Spanish troops. The future king zealously prayed and promised to build a temple on this hill, if the fortress would stand. The outcome of the battle remained with the Italians, and Victor Amadeus II kept his vow. Subsequently, he found his last refuge here, and afterwards all the kings of Piedmont were buried in the superhero basilica
The construction of the basilica began in 1717. The order was undertaken by the architect Filippo Juvarr.
The Basilica of the Superga was built in the late Italian Baroque style. The building impresses with its magnificent forms.

The entrance to the basilica is open to all comers. From April to September, the entrance for tourists from 9 to 12 pm, and then from 15 to 17 hours. From October to March, the morning hours for visits are the same, but in the evening the basilica is open until 6 pm
