The beautiful garden of Eram (or Bage-Eram) was created by the hands of a man in Shiraz to delight the eyes and serve as a place for resting the world's greatest people (that is, shahs). The garden received its present appearance in the 19th century, under the Kashkay ilkhan, although it existed before. In the 18th century, European travelers described the beautiful "Shah's Garden", called "Eram" in honor of the legendary Arabian garden, described as a paradise ("Iram"). Nowadays, the Eram Garden is included in the World Heritage List among other Persian Gardens
The rectangular garden is located on the northern coast of Kushka and consists of four parts. Its total area is 110,000 square meters. m. On both sides the garden is bordered by boulevards Danezhd and Eram. Since 1983 the territory of Eram has been officially declared a botanical garden of the city university, but it can be visited completely freely. The Eram Garden is considered to be the most beautiful in Shiraz.
The dense greenery of the garden gives an abundance of shade even at the peak of the day . For hot Arabia, this garden is a real oasis, and the contrast of juicy greens is especially impressive against the background of dried up hillsides in the distance. . The variety of flora is surprisingly rich: it is tall trees (pine, eucalyptus, poplar, cedar) and small fruit - loquat, almond, apricot , persimmon . Flowers that are planted and flowerbeds were chosen not only for their beauty, but also taking into account the healing properties . One of the natural attractions of the Eram Garden is the 35-meter-long cedar, the largest in the city. . Walking in the garden, it's worth to visit pink greenhouses in which planted up to 300 species of these flowers . In addition, they grow asparagus and begonias, and in the open air - bulbous and flowering shrubs .
There are several beautifully decorated reservoirs on the territory of the garden. In the center of each of the four main garden alleys, a canal flows in the environment of flowers, symbolizing one of the rivers of Eden. The main quadrangle pool adorns a small area in front of the main garden pavilion
The dominant of the garden ensemble is the beautiful palace pavilion "Narastanistan" in three floors that was built under the Kajarov dynasty . The pavilion is on west, in the upper part of the garden, located under a slope . It is distinguished by semicircular elements of the roof, as well as an abundance of columns and balustrades . Amazing mosaics of fragments of seven colors are lined under curved cornices; paintings are illustrations to the poems of the famous Hafiz and Saadi . Behind the "Naranjestan" there is a small Andaruni building, that is, a small inner yard with a private courtyard sheltered from prying eyes . To the southern part of the seraglio there is a former hamam that later served as a premise for protection . Later, when the garden was taken over by the University of Shiraz, the law faculty was placed in the former Seraglio, and the steam bath was turned into a library .
Other architectural structures of the garden and park ensemble - this is the main th gate, through which you can get to the territory from the boulevard Eram in the east or on the east side. Particularly beautiful are the northern gates with glazed mosaic tiles and a complex construction. During the construction of the main garden pavilion, the gates were built into the wall, but later it was replaced with a lattice, through which the garden opens from the boulevard.
