How to get
Taxi from Chania airport will cost about € 50, on the way - 35 minutes You can get by bus from the airport to Chania and transfer to the bus to Platanias.
A longer, but in your own way, interesting option : swim to Chania by ferry from the port of Athens to Piraeus, and then take a taxi to Platanias. The ferry ANEK Lines leaves at 21.00, arrives in Hanju at 5.30 in the morning. Tickets from € 36 to € 83. Blue Star sails from Piraeus at 14.45 and at 22.00 you are in Chania. Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Platanias
By the number of discos, nightclubs and bars, Platanias is the leader of the western coast of Crete. In addition to the nightlife, the resort has all the facilities for daytime activities: windsurfing, water skiing, diving, and, of course, parachutes and bananas.
Directly opposite Platanias is the island of St. Theodora. In the Middle Ages, two fortresses were built on the island, designed to repel an attack by Turkish troops (unfortunately, they could not hold the defense for a long time).
