The place where children do not want to leave, and adults regret that they have not been given enough time to visit, is the Munich Zoo. The largest zoo in the whole of Europe, occupying an area of 39 hectares in the southern part of the city on the shore of Isar, the Munich Zoo opened in 1911. It was the world's first geo-park, where the habitat of certain animals sought to maximize the natural environment.

Munich Zoo - the largest zoo in Europe

The zoo is divided into continent zones, where all animals were settled according to their habitat in the natural environment. To date, 14,500 individuals of more than 650 species live here to the delight of visitors. Annually, almost 1.5 million large and small visitors come to visit all these individuals. There are also amazing events here - for example, for the first time in 66 years a living elephant was born here for the first time in 66 years.

At the entrance to the zoo, do not forget to take a plan at the ticket office.
Munich Zoo

Once in the zoo (true from the northern entrance), you will immediately find yourself in the realm of pink flamingos. Then, walking along the road, you suddenly find yourself in the jungle, watch the chimpanzees, the favorites of the public, and then you will see the aquarium.

Behind the houses of elephants and giraffes is a playground for their walking and aviary for camels. Next - a room with turtles, in front of which graceful leopards dwell in the open territory

Then the road turns to the right, where horses and their little pony brothers graze in a meadow calmly. There is also a restaurant and a children's playground in the playground

The caring staff of the Munich Zoo has built "lazals" on children's playgrounds, as well as a children's zoo with sheep and goats that every young naturalist does not feed and pat. And here it is only welcomed.

To get hungry at the Munich zoo does not threaten its inhabitants or numerous visitors. For the latter there are open a cafe and a restaurant, but to feed animals, you only need to throw a coin into a special machine with food and put your hand. Voila - rather feed the zoo residents waiting for you.

How to get here

You need a U3 metro (the first car from the center) to Thalkirchen station. Then follow the signs. It's quite simple - all the walls in the zoo graffiti. Then cross the river Isar by the bridge - and you are at the traditional entrance to the zoo.

A waste of time and money 08 May 2014

The territory is real big, but not well-groomed and not interesting. All the moats are covered with a ducking shit floating on a continuous carpet. Most of all in the zoo there are ducks and goats, the latter are very nice and sociable. There are very few beasts. At the ticket offices, a student is required to certify, if he does not have to buy an adult ticket for the child. The worst zoo we've ever visited.
