The paragraph of history
The date of the foundation of Telcha is 1099, when the chapel was built here by the local lord in honor of the Virgin Mary . And the first documentary mention of the city dates back to 1333, when the Margrave Karel (the future famous Charles IV) a local castle that later sold to Oldřich III from Hradec . The city around the castle grew, not least thanks to its advantageous geographical location: there was a brisk trade around the main square, merchants built their houses - one more magnificent, with a fairy-tale multicolor fronts and rich furnishings .
During the 16th century, the lords of Hradec have the city, and the main square to this day bears the name of Zacharias of Hradec, in which the old fortress that has served its end is rebuilt in the Renaissance style by the masters Antonio Vlacci and Baldassar de Ronio. A significant trace in the history and architecture of Telchus left the Order of Catholic Jesuit monks. There is a college, an observatory, a music school, and of course many temples, some of which have survived to this day.

How to get there
By bus from Prague with transfer in Jihlava, go far, about 150-160 kilometers, on the road for about 4 hours. The train will have to make a transfer in the town of Havlicky Brod.
