From 6 to 8 October 2010, the 18th international tourist exhibition "Ukraine'2010" was held at the International Exhibition Center in Kiev. The Embassy of Sri Lanka together with 10 companies from Sri Lanka took an active part in this event: Calista Travel, Diethelm Travels, Maldiviana, Tangerine Tours, Jetwing Travels, Exotic Vacation, Walkers Tours, Exotic Global Holidays, Concord Exotic Voyages, Delux Holidays.

The stand of the exhibition was opened by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka Mr. Udayanga Viratunga, who addressed the participants and wished them good luck. Mr. Ambassador also noted about Sri Lanka's plans to take part in the exhibition in Kazakhstan next year. "We are happy to help all those who want to open a new promising market for their company in the CIS countries," said Ambassador. All participants noted the activity of visitors and the fruitfulness of work at the exhibition.

According to statistics, the flow of Ukrainian tourists to Sri Lanka is steadily growing, and at a rapid pace. According to the results of September 2010, the growth of the flow was 44, 6%. In general, for 9 months of 2010, Sri Lanka visited 123, 5% of tourists more than in the same period last year. In December, the UIA (National Aviation of Ukraine) airline starts flying to Colombo, which certainly will support the growth of the tourist flow to Sri Lanka from Ukraine.
