2500 years ago, the city of Ibiza (Vila d'Eivissa), founded by the Carthaginians, was located on top of a hill surrounded by fortresses proudly rising above the bay and the port. Over the past 40 years, the incredible tourist flow has transformed the city and the whole island from the poor and inconspicuous corner of the Mediterranean into an advanced paradise for clubbers and travelers.
Today the capital of Ibiza is a unique combination of rich nightlife, kilometers of comfortable beaches and colorful narrow streets with many shops and souvenir shops.
