Festival" Times and Era "in Moscow
Every year in the first weekend of September, Moscow celebrates City Day. This year's celebrations will take place on 3 and 4 September. In these days around 700 different events are planned around the city and one of the most significant will be the festival "Times and Era."

"Times and Era" (website) in 2011 will be held on September 2-4 in the museum- Reserve Kolomenskoye, in the area of ​​the famous Dyakovo hillfort

The festival will open a series of historical rallies dedicated to different periods of the history of our country, which will last until 2016. The first festival recreates the history of the Early Middle Ages of the 9th-11th centuries

During the events within the framework of the festival more than 1000 participants of their best historical reconstruction societies will be involved. It is worth noting that this will not only be Russians, but guests from other countries: the USA, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus. This year the organizers expect the presence of at least 20 thousand guests at the festival, and by 2015 it is planned to increase the number of tourists who visited the "Times and Epochs" to 120-130 thousand.

The unique feature of the project is the division of the festival territory by ethnicity . Reconstructed nationalities will be located in compact field camps: Slavyanskoye Selishche, Borg Vikings, Stepnoy Ulus, Finnish Kut . Such a division will provide maximum visibility for both spectators and participants . Guests will be able to meet with their own eyes the amazing ancient cultures, recreated with thorough scientific accuracy . And on each ethnic platform will be presented their own demonstration performances that characterize the uniqueness of these cultures . Each camp will be served by experienced guides offering sightseeing tours .

The main events of the festival will be held on a dedicated "Battlefield". There will be a fencing tournament, mass battles, show battles, equestrian competitions and a large-scale theatrical performance "The Birth of Russia."

The water show will also be held within the framework of the festival. At the pier in Moscow, the river will be anchored by historic ships. Drakkars, Slavonic rooks, Finnish snacks will converge in a sea battle, show maneuvering techniques. The culmination will be the Viking landing and the battle on the shore.

The children's playground will be running on the territory of the festival, where the youngest guests can spend time riding on attractions and in an easy way to learn about the distant Middle Ages . Craftsmen will present master classes on blacksmithing, weaving, jewelry craftwork with glass, embroidery and many other ancient trades . All those who wish can take part in exciting archaeological experiments, with their own hands trying the work of our ancestors . souvenir products and archaeological copies of medieval decorations, toys, tools, weapon models can be purchased in the ranks of food .

Guests will be catered for in several medieval taverns and quite modern restaurants

The festival ends on September 4 with an evening grandiose concert folk music "Harvest."
