On the western outskirts of Goryachy Klyuch, at the foot of Abadzekh Mountain, lies a small orthodox chapel - a chapel in honor of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God . Previously, a healing spring was sprinkled in its place, which was popularly called Iversky . Water in it were glandular, rich in minerals and useful trace elements . The blessings of a living source were used not only by local residents, but also by the numerous pilgrims who sought here from all vicinities . Here and there in the hot- about the unprecedented beauty of the source . The spring was crowned with a gate with the icon of the Iberian Mother of God, and the approach to them consisted of a series of massive stone steps . However, in the 1920s . of the 19th century, as a result of a soil shift, the Iver source dried up . In memory of him there are only a bowl-sink and a chapel .
Iverskaya chapel, or, as it is rightly called, a chapel in honor of the Iberian icon of God Mother, is a small elegant design, with which is sewn into the mountain slope . The entrance to the chapel is decorated with a high arch, and the vault ends with a modest dome made in the Christian tradition . Inside the chapel, in the central niche itself, the Icon of the Iberian Mother of God itself is kept, and on its sides - faces of the Messiah and saints . The main icon is written by the artist N . Ryzhikova by special order . Every Friday before the image of the Iberian Mother of God, a solemn morning service is held .
Among all the attractions of the Hot Key, the chapel in honor of the Iberian Icon God's Ater is exceptional. After all, the history of the resort, in fact, began with the consecration of Psekupsky mineral springs. The water-consecrating ceremony took place at the foot of the Abadzekh mountain, near the outlet of mineral springs to the surface, in the presence of noble persons and the ataman of the Kuban Cossack army. Now this place is called the Mineral Glade, it was here that the Iberian chapel found shelter.
There are many interesting places near the Iberian chapel. For example, Mineral Glade is crowned with the only monument in the world "living water". The obelisk rises directly from the "constellation of sources" and, as it were, represents a tribute to psekupsky mineral waters. Also close to the chapel is the entrance to Dantovo Gorge - the most popular walking route in the city and a place of incredible beauty. And from the Dantov canyon you can go to the rock Petushok and the ancient fortress Psyfabe
The chapel, like many sights of the Hot Key, is located on the western outskirts of the city. If you go here by car, then the main guide on the track will be the restaurant "Old Castle". Near it, you need to cross the river on a footbridge and cross the Dantovo Gorge. In case of travel by public transport, ask for a stop. "Sanatorium" is the final station of most city routes.
