How to get there
By train from Milan to Chiavenna with a transfer to Colico. From Chiavenne to Madesimo by bus. The stop is located opposite the train station. In the winter, a direct bus service is available from Milan to Madesimo

30 minutes from Madesimo in (2 km from Chiavenna) is located one of the most prestigious palaces of Lombardy - Vertemate Franchi Palace, built in the 16th century by the brothers Vertemate . The palace is the only building that survived the landslide of 1618, flooded all hamlet is a beautiful masterpiece of the Renaissance era .
