Add a review about the Wax Museum in Prague

In different parts of Prague there are many interesting, fascinating, informative museums, each of which is a landmark of the city. The museum of wax figures (muzeum voskovych figurin) in this sense is not an exception. This is not a simple exhibition of static figures, but rather an art that emphasizes Prague charm, and a touching care for the past of the city and the country as a whole.

In 1997 Zdenek Kochik, a Czech collector, realized his long-standing dream of creating a museum as a journey to the past.

The best artists, artists and architects of the Czech Republic took part in the first exhibition, the heroes of which were famous historical individuals and politicians. Thanks to the latest technology, the figures were virtually indistinguishable from living people. Everything was recreated to the details: droplets of sweat on the skin, blush, sparkles in the eyes - and this made it possible to achieve the desired effect. Visitors who were fortunate enough to be the first ones claimed that there were artists in the makeup, not wax figures, at the museum.

There was a place for the former and present presidents of Russia, Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who were placed on a par with Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle
When the flow of those who wanted to see this miracle increased unexpectedly, and the collection of figures grew to dimensions that no longer fit in the same building, in 1999 another Wax Museum appeared (Karlštejn Castle, near about from Prague). The next one was opened in 2001 in the Czech Krumlov. All of them differed in their themes: in Prague - the figures of the stars of culture, sport and politics; in the castle Karlstejn - historical figures; in Krumlov - celebrities of South Bohemia.

The wax figures of the Prague Museum harmoniously fit into the atmosphere corresponding to the historical epoch in which lived or live prototype celebrities . Amazingly realistic figures from the wax of Lenin, Hitler, King of Czechia Charles IV, Princess Liboush , Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Franz Kafka, Charlie Chaplin, hockey player Jaromir Jagr, brave soldier Svejk, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Karel Gott, Dalai Lama, Stalin, Harry Potter and others are picturesquely placed on several floors of the museum . Here on There was a place even for the former and present presidents of Russia Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who were ranked on the same level as Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle .

The authors of the composition devoted to Princess Diana, to this tragically lost, world-famous personality and woman, reacted with great imagination and respect. In memory of her death, world sorrow and love, the figure of the princess was placed in a separate room with mirrors. And when lighting changes, Diana suddenly disappears, and in her place appears a red rose. Very touching, heart-warming exposition

The museum of wax figures is very popular among tourists and city dwellers, who gladly visit it and get acquainted with world celebrities personally.
